Facial yoga; It creates a resistance against aging by stimulating facial muscles and cells, many of which are dormant, weakening and losing their effect as they age. The effect of facial yoga, which reduces aging by helping facial cells regenerate and become firmer, is also proven by research.
One of these studies is Dr. D., Vice President and Professor of Dermatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the United States. It was made by Murad Alam and his team in 2018. Dr. Alam and his team, in their research, revealed that facial exercises contribute to a better appearance and reduce aging.
The scientists followed 27 women aged between 40 and 65 for five months throughout the study. At the beginning of the study, each woman participating in the study learned how to do the exercises by participating in two separate training sessions that lasted three hours in total with a yoga instructor. Afterwards, the women did these exercises for five months without the supervision of a trainer.
All of the participants, who performed 32 different facial exercises for one minute, did facial yoga every day for the first eight weeks of the study. In the remaining 12 weeks, they continued their face yoga routine for an alternative day they wanted.
To see the effect of facial yoga, the scientists took photos of the participants before they started the research, during the eighth week of the research, and after the research ended.
Well, Dr. What was the result of Alam and his team?
When the photographs of the 16 women who completed the study were examined, the mean age of the group, which was 50.8 at the beginning, decreased to 49.6 at the end of the eighth week. At the end of the study, it was observed that the average age of the participants decreased to 48.1 and the participants had a younger appearance. I mean, they've become almost three years younger in just five months!
The research was conducted by Prof. Dr. Murad Alam states that rejuvenation was detected in every woman who participated in the study, even if they reduced the exercises. However, he states that due to the combination of exercises, they could not determine which exercise is more effective for achieving a youthful appearance.
In conclusion; Although the effect of facial yoga varies according to the duration and exercises, we can easily say that it reduces aging by stimulating the cells and muscles in our face.
