Health, wellness, healing ourselves emotionally and actually trying to be the "best version of ourselves"... We talked to Melis Kuriş, the founder of A Curated Vibe, about "flower therapy".
What is flower therapy?
Flower extracts, also known as flower therapy, are actually an energetic healing solution that helps balance our emotional health. In the 1930s, an English homeopath named Dr.Edward Bach; It begins to be used with the discovery of a healing system made from the flowers of flowering trees and plants and consisting of a total of 38 flower essences. Each essence is designed to help a person balance a particular mood or emotion.
How are flower extracts made?
Flower extracts are obtained by diluting the flowers of wild plants. Wildflowers are placed in natural spring water, which is then exposed to the sun or boiled; The frequencies of certain flowers are transferred to the water, which is preserved in brandy and bottled.
What are the benefits of flower extracts for our body and soul?
Flower extracts works on various human energy fields that affect our mental and emotional well-being. In other words, we can say that it is a form of treatment (vibrational medicine) that regulates our frequency. When you use a drop, your energy field, namely your aura, takes the essence of the flower. In this way, it gently restores the balance between mind and body by expelling negative emotions. It activates positive emotions in us and frees the body to heal itself.
So where should someone who has heard of flower essences for the first time start to heal themselves?
I have prepared several different cures that you can find on the A Curated Vibe website. First you need to determine how you feel. Are you scared? Impatient? Not sure what to do with your life? You can choose a filter based on how you're feeling right now and then discover which essences from the list appeal to you the most. In this process, if you find yourself drawn to more than one flower essence and cannot decide between them, I can also create a special bottle for you by following the one-on-one sessions and talking about your emotional needs. I can do the sessions in English or Turkish. English sessions last approximately one hour; but Turkish sessions take a little longer as they are held via Zoom and a translator.
What should we do to understand which flower will be good for us?
Flowers only work on an emotional level, so we need to match the prepared cure with the emotion the customer is feeling. Let's say you are in a period of feeling insecure, so you are afraid to try something new. You have a photographer in your heart, but you are afraid that people will not understand or like your work. In that case I would add larch and wild oats to your custom formula. Because larch is known as the "flower of self-confidence". Wild oats, on the other hand, are known as the "vocational flower" that helps you find your purpose or path in life.
How should we use flower extracts?
You can use it by dripping four drops under your tongue or into a glass of water four times a day.
Are there any side effects we may encounter when using flower extracts?
Flower essences do not have any negative side effects. They are 100% natural and harmless. They do not contain any toxic substances. Each essence does exactly what it's supposed to do. If the cure you use is chosen according to the support you need, it often gives very good results. But if you are not experiencing the feeling supported by the essence you are using, you do not feel any effect of the cure. Most of our flower essence cures contain trace amounts of alcohol as a preservative. If you do not want it to contain alcohol, we can also prepare it using glycerin. All cures for children and pets are made with glycerin; but their shelf life is shorter. However, if you have any questions or concerns, it is a good idea to consult your doctor before using flower extracts.
What exactly is the difference between flower extracts and essential oils?
In healing works, flower extracts and essential oils complement each other. Both affect the mind-body spectrum but work in opposite ways. Essential oils use the senses to reach the soul, while flower essences affect the sensitive energy fields of the soul and support physical wellbeing. In fact, we can say that the body of the plant itself, the blood of the essential oil and the mind of the flower essence.
Can children and pets also benefit from flower essences?
Yes, flower extracts are safe for children. Children tend to react very quickly to flower therapy because they do not have years of unresolved emotional instability. flower extracts; Extremely helpful for childhood emotions such as shyness, tantrums, fear, nightmares and low self-esteem. It helps children establish a balance within themselves. Cures used by children are prepared without alcohol.
When it comes to pets, I think flower extracts are a great way to help animals overcome challenges. If you think your pet is stressed; My S.O.S. The formula is a great, natural starting point. It can create an instant relaxing effect. Hyperactive dogs, stressed cats; It is successful in calming animals that are afraid of going to the vet, thunder or fireworks. It's also a great solution for rescued animals that have been through a lot of relocation, are adjusting to a new environment, or are showing signs of separation anxiety.
How did you become interested in flower extracts and homeopathy? Can you talk a little bit about the story of A Curated Vibe?
I have always been interested in different healing methods and I believe strongly in energy. I first learned about flower therapy while working as a celebrity stylist in Los Angeles. A client of mine was getting divorced at the time and I saw how flower extracts worked in her life. He was happy and calm; She had an incredible radiance that you wouldn't expect from someone going through a divorce.
I was also in a transition period and realized that this was something I wanted to try. It's been eight years since I started using flower essences. And it's the only healing method I know I can never live without. A natural source of magic that I will use for the rest of my life.
Here's the story behind A Curated Vibe, I've always enjoyed coming up with interesting names or concepts for brands. The name A Curated Vibe came to mind in 2014, but I really didn't know what to do with it. Later, when I decided to work with clients outside of my personal circle, I realized that we all have the same “vibe”. Health, wellness, emotional healing, and actually trying to be “the best version of ourselves”... I talk a lot with clients about frequencies, so when I thought about branding my services, the name somehow fell into place.
How did flower extracts benefit you personally?
From letting go of negative emotions and people, to guiding career changes; They've helped me in every aspect of my life, from trusting my intuition to relieving a crazy mind for a good night's sleep.
Which is your favorite cure?
I have so many favourites! I'm currently taking Cerato and Rockwater to help with decision making so I'm not so strict with myself. It allows me to be a little more flexible and let things flow. Wild oats are also great for helping you find your way through life. When I take this cure, I feel that my dreams are very vivid, my intuition is strong and I have a purpose. Larch is one of my favourites, and since I'm my own worst critic, I think a little self-confidence boost wouldn't hurt anyone.
Among the cures I sell on A Curated Vibe, my favorite is Super You! A great formula to unleash your creativity and help boost your self-confidence.
